On April 25 LUXUAV had the honor of welcoming Andris Sprūds, Minister of Defence of Latvia, as part of his official visit to Luxembourg.
During the visit, our founders Nicolas Zharov, Nicolas van Beek and Denis Dovgopoliy presented LUXUAV’s core activities and innovative product portfolio, followed by a constructive exchange on potential avenues for collaboration between two countries in the field of advanced defence technologies.
As committed members of NATO, both Latvia and Luxembourg share a strong dedication to collective defence, technological innovation, and transatlantic security. This common framework provides a solid foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation, particularly in emerging domains such as unmanned systems and next-generation defence capabilities.
Latvia has distinguished itself as one of the most steadfast supporters of Ukraine, providing substantial military, financial, and humanitarian assistance since 2022.
A notable initiative in this context is the Drone Colalition, co-led by Latvia and the United Kingdom. This initiative plays a pivotal role in coordinating international funding and scaling production efforts to deliver tens of thousands of drones to Ukraine, while simultaneously reinforcing domestic defence industry capacities.
We are proud to represent Luxembourg as a leading hub for innovation in the defence industry and look forward to fostering fruitful collaboration aimed at strengthening European resilience.
With the presence of distinguished guests: Her Excellency Ms. Aiga Liepina, Ambassador of Latvia to Luxembourg, Mr. Jevgēnijs Rjaščenko-Šaraks, Chief of Staff to the Minister, Ms. Dagnija Lejiņa, Advisor to the Minister, and Mr. Emīls Edmunds Rēķis, Advisor to the Ministry of Defence.
