On June 24th, LUXUAV was proud to participate in the Benelux Defence Industry Day 2026 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, a premier forum bringing together government leaders, NATO representatives, defence organisations, and industry innovators to shape the future of European defence capabilities.
The significance of this year's event was reflected in the participation of senior leaders from across the Benelux defence community, including Geoffrey van Leeuwen, NATO Chief of Staff, who delivered the opening address, and a high-level fireside discussion featuring Theo Francken, Belgian Minister of Defence, Derk Boswijk, Dutch Minister for Armaments, and Hélène Massard, Deputy Director of Directorate of Defence - Luxembourg.
Their discussions highlighted the importance of defence cooperation, investment priorities, industrial resilience, and Europe's strategic autonomy in an increasingly complex security environment.
As part of the programme, LUXUAV CEO Nicolas Zharov delivered a keynote presentation on Multi-layer UAV Integration, addressing the technological and industrial challenges that will define the next generation of unmanned systems. During his keynote, Nicolas emphasised that the future of sovereign UAV capabilities depends not only on developing advanced platforms but on building an entirely new ecosystem. We thank the organisers, speakers, and participants for the valuable exchange of ideas and look forward to contributing to the development of a stronger, more connected, and more autonomous European defence system.
