Apply for this position and join us in building Europe’s next generation infrastructure.

Our values are rooted in responsibility, readiness, and long term thinking. We believe sovereignty must be designed into systems from the start. Readiness is achieved through capability, not procurement. Autonomy is infrastructure, not a feature. We build with the understanding that modern systems carry long term consequences. That is why we prioritise reliability over novelty, integration over isolation, and sustained capability over short term advantage.

Role Overview

We are building compact airborne-based communication platforms. We are

looking for a permanent, hands-on engineer to lead the design and development of these

nodes: the radio stack on SDR, the RF integration, and the networking around it. This is a

technical lead role, not a management one. You own the build. Programme, customer, and

stack shortlist are shared during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and integrate the software-defined 5G NR/LTE node on SDR hardware,

from the RF front-end through L1/L2 to an onboard core.

- Own SDR bring-up and RF integration: SDR platforms, PA, filtering, and antenna chain,

TDD timing, and calibration.

- Configure and extend the RAN stack (srsRAN, OpenAirInterface, or a commercial

equivalent) and integrate the mobile core (5GC/EPC).

- Design and implement the networking: IP routing, gateways, backhaul, and mesh-to-5G

interconnect, with end-to-end connectivity and performance.

- Collaborate with the RF/array specialist on integrating the RF front-end, including

phased-array options, into the node at the array-to-L1 boundary.

- Stand up bench and hardware-in-the-loop test, measure and optimise throughput,

latency, and coverage, and drive the node from lab to field trials

Experience & Skills

Must have

- Hands-on industrial experience developing and integrating 4G/5G RAN systems, not

research-only.

- Very strong SDR skills: USRP-class or similar hardware and software-RAN (srsRAN,

OpenAirInterface, or commercial), including RF front-end integration.

- Solid network engineering: IP routing, 5GC/EPC, transport and backhaul, and the ability

to design and debug end-to-end.

- Strong C/C++ for real-time and embedded systems, with Python for automation and

test.

- Working knowledge of 5G NR/LTE L1/L2 and O-RAN architecture (Open Fronthaul 7-

2x, O1, and the FAPI PHY-MAC API), enough to integrate and optimise.

- English at upper-intermediate level or above, and the ability to work with

adjacent engineering teams.

- Free criminal record

Nice to have

- RF, antenna, and phased-array familiarity.

- Mesh networking (MANET) and secure transport (VPN, SD-WAN).

- Airborne, UAV, aerial-relay, or NTN experience.

- EU spectrum and regulatory familiarity.

- Track record taking a node from prototype to field trials

- National from a NATO member country or one of the following NATO Indo-Pacific

partners: Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand or Ukraine.

Our Values

What guides our decisions?

Our values are rooted in responsibility, readiness, and long term thinking. We believe sovereignty must be designed into systems from the start. Readiness is achieved through capability, not procurement. Autonomy is infrastructure, not a feature. We build with the understanding that modern systems carry long term consequences. That is why we prioritise reliability over novelty, integration over isolation, and sustained capability over short term advantage.

[01]

Design with scale in mind.

We develop systems as part of an ecosystem that is intended to grow.
Scale is not an afterthought, but a design principle that shapes architecture, integration, and evolution.

[02]

Build a solid foundation.

We prioritise core architecture, interoperability, and long term resilience.
A strong foundation enables systems to adapt without fragmentation.

[03]

Practice over theory.

We value learning through application.
Systems are shaped by real use and continuous refinement, not by abstract assumptions.

[04]

Commitment beyond delivery.

We take responsibility for what we build over time.
Commitment means supporting systems throughout their lifecycle and ensuring they remain relevant, secure, and under control.

Open Positions

We are hiring talent across multiple roles, contributing to Europe’s readiness and long term capability.

We are building a multidisciplinary team across engineering, systems architecture, operations, and supporting functions. Open roles reflect the needs of a growing secure and autonomous infrastructure company, where integration, reliability, and long term thinking matter. If you do not see a position that matches your profile, we still encourage proactive applications from people aligned with our mission and values.
